AGNES KEIRNS

Agnes E. Keirns, 91, of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully, October 9, 2022, with her loving family by her side. She was born February 27, 1931 in LeRoy, West Virginia, daughter of the late Jennings and Lora (Kelley) Tolley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Keirns, Sr.; daughters, Geraldine Daniels, Vicki Douglas, and Mona Walker; brother Harold Tolley; and sisters, Evelyn Pursley, Margaret Congrove, Eileen Sullivan, Deana Emerick, and Louise Clark.

Agnes’ memory will live on in the hearts of those who survive; daughter, Beck Self of Clinton; sons, Jerry (Vicki) Keirns, Jr. of Georgia, Ron (Dawne) Nester of Akron, 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker and was an avid quilter. She was very connected with her church and the relationships she had with her church family. She felt volunteering for her church was one of the best ways to exercise her spiritual gifts.

Family and friends are welcome for visitation, Wednesday, October 12, 2022, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, 13151 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Uniontown. The service for Agnes will be held, Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., Lakemore United Methodist Church, 1536 Flickinger Road, Akron. Reverend David Whitt officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron.
