David W. Greathouse

David W. Greathouse, 69, passed away June 4, 2017. Born in Spencer, W.V. on December 18, 1947 to Buck and Helen Greathouse, he was a 1966 graduate of Ellet H.S. David, a Vietnam Army veteran, worked as a rigger foreman for Frank Lucco Co. until his retirement. He was a member of Teamsters 348, VFW Post 8975 and Millheim UCC.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Danny Greathouse and in laws Harold and Hester Hoaglin. David will be greatly missed by his loving family; wife of 46 years Janet; daughters, Lisa Greathouse Villers and Lori Greathouse Bookwood; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Melanie), David and Samantha Brunty, Livia and Sophia Bookwood; great grandson Matthew; sisters, Patricia (Tom) Smith, Peggy (Louis) Higuera and Pammy Anderson; many cherished nieces, nephews, relatives, golf buddies and friends.

Our family would like to extend a special heart felt Thank You to the entire staff of doctors and nurses in the Akron City Summa Heart and Lung Unit, for all of their loving care and kindness shown to David and our family.

Visitation Thursday 5 to 8 p.m. at the Hecker Home in Uniontown, where a memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Sharon Bauman officiating. Private burial.
