Diane "Dyan" Irene (Yovich) Boli

DIANE “Dyan” IRENE (YOVICH) BOLI

Sadly, and unexpectedly, Dyan Irene (Yovich) Boli passed away on May 25, 2024, at her home in Uniontown. She was born in Akron, Ohio on September 12, 1953, to John Yovich and Evelyn (Pencin) Yovich. Dyan was a graduate of Firestone High School, received her BFA from Edinboro State College, and her Master’s from Ashland University.

After graduating, she taught art for Coventry Local Schools for 37 years, just recently retiring in 2021. She loved to travel, enjoyed music and concerts, was an active member of the Y, enjoyed crafting with friends, and taught summer art classes in Canton at the Museum of Art. Her connection to nature was evident in her home garden, her love of the Springfield bog, and hiking the many trails of the Summit Metro Parks. Most of all her love for family was so strong. Dyan's grandson, Neven, was the joy of her life. Dyan loved creating fun things for him, from clothes, to curtains, to furniture.

Dyan had the gift of connection with people, and she had the ability to make them feel like they were unique and special.   Meeting up with her, even if just for coffee, was always a greatly anticipated adventure! She laughed together with her friends at the absurdities of life and found joy in the beauty of nature and the power of art. Over decades of friendship, she created a shared language of private reference points and humor. That was her great gift as a friend and as a teacher: the ability to divine what would particularly inspire each person who came into her orbit.  She will be greatly missed by everyone.

She was preceded in death by her father, John and her grandparents, Ivan and Ellen Pencin.  Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband, Tedd of 46 years; daughter, Starr (Jim) Dobush and grandson Neven; mother, Evelyn (Pencin) Yovich; her brother, John Yovich (Becky)and their children Michael (Marisa) Brightman and Steven (Carrie) Brightman; sister-in-law, Trudy Leisey (Cal); brother-in-law Todd Boli (Jean); nieces and nephews, Warren Rottenberry (Bethany) and children, Max and Sophia; Addie and Declan, Elise, Miriam and Sonia; and Starr’s adopted aunt, Toni Ehrman.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m., at Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, 13151 Cleveland Avenue NW, Uniontown. A Celebration of Life will follow immediately at 3:00 p.m.
