Gordon E. Miller
Gordon E. Miller, 85, passed away April 5, 2018. Born December 19, 1932 in Springfield Township, to Ervin and Mary (Reid) Miller, he was an area resident all of his life. Gordon, a Korean Conflict Navy veteran, worked for General Motors, Terex Division until their plant closing. He served as past president of Lakemore PTA, past band president at Field High School and was a volunteer fireman on the Springfield, Lakemore, Brimfield and Suffield fire departments, at various times, serving these community for a combined total of over 30 years.
In life, it’s not where you go on life’s journey, it’s who you travel with and on this new journey, my love, you will have to take this journey without me, until we meet again in Heaven. Gordon had a very strong faith and belief in God. He was always happy to serve many years as Sunday School Superintendent and any spot where God needed him.
He will be greatly missed by his loving family; wife of over 59 years, Margillee (nee Capps); daughter, Terry Woods; son and daughter-in-law Gordon E. Miller II and his wife Johanna; granddaughters, Erica Vallen, Ashlee (Casey) Barringer and their son Colton, Cori (Anthony) Puleo and their daughter Scarlett; step grandchildren and their children, Josh and Jacqulyn Miller (Luciana and Rosalia) , Mike and Andrea Dixon (Gianna, Aleesia, Vivian and Samuel), Jim & Kristina Jackson (Sunday), and many other cherished relatives and friends.
Visitation Saturday 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Hecker Funeral Home in Uniontown, where funeral services will immediately follow at 3:30 p.m. with Chaplain Mark Ballard officiating. Private burial at Hillside Memorial Park. For those wishing, memorials may be made in his name to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr., Suite E, Green, OH. 44685. Hecker 330 699-2600.
