Joseph Lee Matulis, 56, passed away suddenly October 11, 2017. Born in Akron on October 28, 1960, he was a 1978 graduate of Field H.S. Joe worked as a pipe fitter and was a member of Pipe Fitters Local 120. His favorite past times were playing the guitar, fishing and making people laugh with the crazy jokes he told, but the most important thing in Joe's life was his family. He was a devoted son to his mother Linda and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren showing them just how much he loved them.
Joe was preceded in death by his brother Jeff and grandma Mabel Werstler. He is survived by his family that will miss him greatly; mother Linda Ridenour; daughters, Brittany Matulis, Alissa (Matt) Zappitelli and Cassie Matulis; uncle Tom and aunt Pam Werstler, 5 step children, 18 grandchildren, and many other cherished relatives and friends.
Visitation Sunday 1 to 3 p.m. at the Hecker Funeral Home in Uniontown, where a memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Stephen Neumeyer officiating. Burial at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for purchasing a standing memorial. Hecker 330 699-2600.
