Katherine D. Blair
Katherine D. Blair passed away on December 29, 2024, at Crandel Medical Center at the age of 94. She was born on March 22, 1930, in Akron, Ohio to parents John Heinbauch and Margaret Knoch, who preceded her in death. Also preceding Katherine in death was her husband, Herman Blair; sisters, Kathleen Benvie and Margaret Engle; and brother, Henry Heinbauch.
Katherine’s memory lives on in the hearts of those who survive; son, Michael Blair (Christine); grandchildren, Jason, Samuel (Megan), Aaron, and Daniel; and very special niece, Margaret “Tookie” Mullen and nephew, Donard Engle.
There is nothing better than a homemade pie and Katherine made the best. She was an avid gardener and had a family-owned produce stand on Killan Road for 60 years. She lived a full life for 94 years, teaching to love unconditionally, stay humble, and appreciate simplicity. Katherine was a member of the Uniontown United Methodist Church.
Katherine was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and, on many occasions, traveled with her husband to Winterhaven, Florida for Indians spring training camp.
Visitation for Katherine will take place on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from noon to 1pm, Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, 13151 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Uniontown, where the service will follow. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests Memorial Contributions may be made to the Uniontown United Methodist Church in Katherine’s name.
