MARIE DESARIO

Marie DeSario, 91, of Uniontown, Ohio, entered her eternal home, September 23, 2018.  Born August 23, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John Parkola and Anna Marushock Parkola.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter J. DeSario and sister, Elaine Proietto.

Marie’s memory will live on in the lives of those who survive her; daughter, Diane Marie (Paul F.) Tinkle of Tennessee; sons, Peter J. (Janet) DeSario of Florida, Don J. (MaryJo) DeSario of Akron; grandchildren, John, Paul, and David DeSario, Tina Babb, Terri Caldwell, and John Watts, Jr.; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Marie, whose kindness and compassion touched the lives of many, was a retired LPN from Edwin Shaw Hospital, where she worked for 15 years; she loved hosting several meetings of the “Stitchers” and regularly attended the Ladies Auxiliary Haven of Rest Ministries in Akron.  She was a member of The Chapel in Green, enjoyed crocheting, classical music, bowling, and loved cooking both Russian and Italian dishes.  One of the things Marie always cherished was the thought of finally joining the heavenly choir of angels, eternally praising the Lord.

Family and friends are welcome for visitation, Thursday from 4 to 8 pm, Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, 13151 Cleveland Ave., NW, Uniontown, Ohio, where the service for Marie will be conducted, Friday at 11 am.  Interment will follow at Woods Cemetery, Uniontown, Ohio.
