Mary E. Brown, 95, of Springfield Township, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, October 12, after a short illness. Mary was born October 4, 1922 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Wayne and Clara Adams Carpenter. She was a lifelong resident of the Akron area, graduating from Springfield High School in 1940. Mary has been a faithful member of Millheim Baptist Church since 1952. Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Homer Brown, infant son Todd Jay, brother Donald Carpenter, sisters Ganel Shimp, Kathryn Wright, and Vivian Eubanks. She is survived by sons Dana (Susan), Karl (Sudha), daughters Deborah, Lori (Jerry) Guillott, Kelly Weber, and grandsons Jeffrey and Christopher Guillott. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hecker Funeral Home, 13151 Cleveland Ave. NW, in Uniontown, Oh. 44685. Funeral Services will be Monday, 1:30 p.m., at Millheim Baptist Church, 2661 Hayne Road, Akron, with Pastor Kim Lawrence officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
