PHYLLIS “BILLIE” ROGERS

Phyllis "Billie" Rogers, 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 18, 2021.  Billie was born on September 18, 1928 in Nicholas County, West Virginia. She was the daughter of George and Lillie Robinson, who preceded her in death, along with her sisters, Sally, Maxine, Nell, Jan and brother, Donald.

Billie was a loving and devoted wife of 75 years to her husband Gussie, who preceded her in death on December 26, 2020.  Together they had one son, Danny; he and his mom shared a special bond. Billie spent her life dedicated to being a Godly wife and mother. Billie was also the best "Nanny" ever to her granddaughters, Lisa and Deanna. She was looked up to as a “Second Mom" to many of the neighborhood kids. Gus and Billie's home in Randolph, Ohio was always filled with love, laughter, and prayer.  Throughout her life, Billie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, giving words of encouragement through a card or phone call, making Peanut Butter fudge, canning vegetables from Gus's garden and watching sporting events.  She was a member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene where over the years she served as Youth Leader and Sunday School Teacher.

Billie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Danny (Marcena) Rogers; granddaughters, Lisa Rogers, Deanna (Joe) Sutton; sister-in-law, Freda Schoeppner; brother-in-law, Waldo McCray; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Danbury Senior Living, especially Babette "honorary granddaughter" and her son for all the time and attention given to both Gus and Billie. Also, a special thank you to Dr. James Phillips and staff for all the care and love they expressed over the last several years.

Gus and Billie will always be "Together Forever" therefore a Celebration of Life Service will be planned at a later date, once COVID restrictions are lessened.   Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Church of the Nazarene.

Hecker-Patron Funeral Home was entrusted with Billie’s care and was privileged in assisting the Rogers family during this very tender time.  To share prayers, memories, condolences, and words of comfort, please visit: heckerpatronfuneralhome.com.
