SAMUEL R. MARTIN, JR.

Samuel R. Martin, Jr., 84, of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully, with his loved ones by his side, June 19, 2021.  He was born in Akron, Ohio, December 28, 1936 to the late Samuel R. Martin, Sr. and Jane L. Best Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Grose and brother, Claude Martin.

A devoted family man, Samuel led by example, demonstrating the importance of good morals and values.  He enjoyed hometown sports and traveling.  He served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

He leaves to cherish loving memories to his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Martin of Akron; daughters, Pat Ramey, Rochelle Fegan, Cindy Knotts, Kathleen (Chuck) Bailes, Dawn Martin (Donald Hurst); son, Timothy Martin; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Sally Frye, Carolyn Pickering, Marcia (Mike) Buterbaugh, Cheryl (Frank) Mullins; brothers, David (Florence) Martin, Gary and Tom Martin.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 11:00 am until the time of service, beginning at 1:00 pm, Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, 13151 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Uniontown.  Pastor Bob Stevens will officiate.  Interment will follow at East Liberty Cemetery, Green, Ohio.
