THEDACHIA M. “PEGGY” BAILEY

Thedachia M. “Peggy” Bailey, 90, of North Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully August 6, 2018, at her home with her family by her side. She was born January 10, 1928 in Raven, Virginia, the youngest of 15 children, to the late Luther and Bertha Hess.

Living in Akron most of her life, she worked at Firestone and for Springfield schools in the cafeteria, where she retired from in 1977.  A woman with amazing faith, she was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church for more than 70 years.  Her love for the Lord led her to serve in many departments of the church; teaching Sunday school; singing in the choir; leading the Home Life Class; and in most recent years, leading the prayer group.  She served in the kitchen preparing many wonderful meals and bringing people together in fellowship.  She enjoyed sewing and quilting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Clifford Bailey and son, Dallas Bailey.

Peggy will be missed and her memory will live on in those who survive her; daughter, Loretta (Paul) Akins; granddaughters, Michelle (Greg) Oliver, Charlotte (Todd) Reynolds, and Cindy (Don) Akins Archacki; great-grandchildren, Kyle Akins, Clayton Oliver, Calla and Ashlee Wadley, Jack Reynolds; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to visit, Saturday from 10 a.m., until the time of service, beginning at noon, Gospel Assembly Church, 2535 Wise Road, N. Canton, Ohio.  Reverend Rick Moore officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Akron, Ohio.

A loving tribute is given to Peggy’s church family for their support; her dear friend, Mary Miracle; and her long time, caring physician, Dr. Erwin Maseelall.  The family would also like to send a heartfelt thank you to Cleveland Clinic Hospice of VNS.
