Theresa D. Eckelberry

Theresa D. Eckelberry of Hartville, Ohio, passed away on April 1, 2025 at the age of 63. She was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on March 28, 1962 to Nancy (Brown) Kays and the late George Kays, who preceded Theresa in death in 2014. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Elmer and Irene Brown.

She had a love of photography, enjoyed crafting, and collectibles. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1980. Theresa adored and was the heart and soul of her family. She was a devoted wife and mother, and her greatest joy came from nurturing her family including all her dogs over the years. Besides her role as a mom to her two sons, she volunteered as a “room mom” to many students when her boys were in school. Her gentle heart was a special gift to all.

Theresa is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dale Eckelberry; sons, Jeff and Alex Eckelberry, mother, Nancy Kays; and brother, Duane Kays.

A small private service will be held at Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, Uniontown. Interment will take place at Mt. Peace Cemetery, Hartville. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stark County Humane Society.
