VAUNA COGAR

Vauna Cogar, 92, went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2025, at the Inn at Whitewood Village in North Canton, Ohio. She was born on March 26, 1932, in Wheeler, West Virginia to Ernest and Effie Cowger. She lived most of her life in Akron, Ohio. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Cogar and sister, Velma Bender-Jordan. She is survived by her sons, Leon (Sherry) and Lester (Debbie) Cogar; sister and best friend, Vada Barnett, and sister, Anetha Woods; brother, Emery Cowger; and many nieces and nephews.

She was a life member of Community Baptist Temple.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 am, Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, Uniontown, where the service will follow at 11:00 am. Pastor Mark O’Donnell will serve as officiant. Private interment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery.
