Vera M. Wise

Vera M. Wise, age 97, passed away on April 14, 2025 in New Port Richey, Florida. Formerly of Greentown, Ohio, Vera was born on April 2, 1928 in Canton, Ohio and was preceded in death by parents, Floren (Abie) Daughenbaugh and Opal (Lowther) Daughenbaugh; husband, Richard M. Wise; brother, Richard S. Daughenbaugh; and first husband, Lester Hawk.

Vera was an accomplished pianist and loved playing her grand piano. She and her late husband, Richard, enjoyed cruising and traveling overseas. During the last couple of years, as her health was declining, she enjoyed watching reruns of the Lawrence Welk show.

Vera was a member of Greentown United Methodist Church and the Greentown Garden Club.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Karen (Tom) Harris, Sue (Joe) Nagy, Jan (Bill) Hitchko; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Gary (Lue) Daughenbaugh; and sister-in-law, Doris Daughenbaugh.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 11:00 AM to Noon, at Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, Uniontown. A Graveside Service and interment will follow at Greentown Cemetery. Pastor Aimee Hare officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Vera’s memory to the Greentown United Methodist Church, Greentown, Ohio or the Greentown Fire Department.
